Joana Vasconcelos presided the jury of the 2nd edition of SIM Award, which distinguishes projects in the Creative Industries, made in Portugal, that are not only innovative, but also create value to the community.

The SIM’12 Award received 120 projects, which were assessed according to criteria of Innovation, Market Potential, Impact in the Community and Economic Feasibility.

The awarded project was sensorialFIT, which proposes the creation of functional, interactive and therapeutic clothing for children with special needs. The project received €25.000 to support its implementation.

The honourable mentions went to the projects Musikki, a Facebook application which creates playlists based on the friends’ shares and pages followed by the user; and the project VIRAL, an online platform to promote cultural events in a social network manner.
