Fundação Joana Vasconcelos has partnered with Topázio, renowned brand specialized in the art of silversmithing, to celebrate its 140 years of activity, to create a limited edition signed by the artist.

To celebrate its anniversary, Topázio invited 14 artists to create a special work to honour the brand's history and tradition.The challenge was to create a work inspired in D. João V Large Vase, Topázio’s iconic piece that mirrors the aesthetics of the baroque style that characterized one of the longest reigns of the history of Portugal.

Joana Vasconcelos responded to the challenge with A Joanina and chose to remain faithful to the original work, but stripping it of its fervent decoration.

The works will be part of the commemorative exhibition Topázio, 140 Anos de Prata, (Topázio, 140 Years of Silver), at Topázio factory in Gondomar (Portugal). The exhibition will then be displayed in museums and other locations.

Each work is being sold in an edition of 10, numbered and signed.
