ART WARS USA

Joana Vasconcelos is once again taking part in Art Wars – a charitable initiative where artists are challenged to customize a Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet.

The London-based project now travels to the United States to present the works of 20 emerging and established artists in Miami, during Miami Art Week, and Los Angeles, to coincide with the world premiere of the latest Star Wars film.

Art Wars was created by Ben Moore with the aim of raising funds to find his brother Thomas Moore, missing since 2003. Proceeds from this edition will revert to Missing Tom Fund and also to the charity Missing People.

The inaugural Art Wars exhibition was held at the renowned Saatchi Gallery in London in 2013, and included Stormtrooper artworks by internationally acclaimed artists such as Damien Hirst, Jake and Dinos Chapman, Mat Collishaw, Yinka Shonibare MBE, among others.
