Joana Vasconcelos was part of the panel of judges for the renowned International Fashion & Photography Festival of Hyères, which took place between 23 and 27 April at Villa Noailles.

Karl Lagerfeld was the creative director of the 30th edition of the festival that is a launching pad to young talents in fashion and photography. Among the members of the jury were Virginie Viard, diretor of Chanel’s studio, Princess Caroline of Monaco, actress Anna Mouglalis, fashion editor Carine Roitfeld, architect and designer India Mahdavi, and musician Sébastien Tellier, in fashion; Anne Cartier-Bresson, editor Gerhard Steidl, and photographer Sølve Sundsbø, as well as Portuguese artist André Saraiva, in photography.

The first prize for fashion has been awarded to the German Annelie Schubert. Fundação Joana Vasconcelos has teamed up with Chanel to award a special prize to the Netherlander Wieke Sinnige.
